The frame is a custom-made item worth ¥15,800. However, when purchased with the framed print, after deducting shipping and fees, the frame cost comes down to approximately ¥3,000, making it an exceptional value, almost a complimentary price.

The story of Alice in Wonderland originated at Oxford University. It was written by a mathematics professor, and for its publication, he commissioned illustrations from John Tenniel, a popular illustrator of the time.
While originally published in monochrome in the late 19th century, it was later colorized. This print is a cut-out from a book published in the 1920s. Unlike modern printing, coloring was done by hand during that era.
Therefore, its value is completely different from illustrations in contemporary books.
The original artwork is not available on the market and is housed in a museum in the UK. For this reason, Alice fans worldwide collect cut-outs from older books.
This item comes with a certificate of authenticity guaranteeing it is from the 1920s (included within the frame).
This piece was exhibited at an Alice exhibition during my time managing an art gallery and was acquired in the UK.
